Friday, January 20, 2006This is my second personal clip on what a blog is. The video has been shot a few weeks ago here in my office, with the help of Alessandro Luccardi, who has actually shot many of the street people interviews you have been seeing until now. A big thank to him for all the great, humble work he has been doing.
If you haven't seen yet, here is Robin Good What is a blog? Clip one">my first clip and here below the full text transcript of my second answer:

He is also the author of Smart Mobs, a book about the revolution-in-the-making generated by the widespread use of mobile communication devices.

Matteo Cascinari
Monday, January 16, 2006Matteo Cascinari is Business Unit Manager for On-line services of the "Il Sole 24 Ore", Italian leader finance and economy news daily. Matteo is not a blogger and I have had the pleasure to meet him at the recent Web and Media conference organized by the Top-IX consortium.
Matteo sees blogs from the point of view of media business and from his extended experience with media innovation across news print and satellite tv broadcasting.
Here is what he had to say about what blogs really are (translated in English - original interview in Italian):

Friday, January 13, 2006This is the third video clip from Nancy White.
Nancy has definitely provided some of the most colorful and original viewpoints on what blogs are. Her descriptions and definitions truly reflect her mission as a facilitator, enabler and "social nurse", as well as her genuine interest for giving "voice" to those that don't have one.
What I can say for the little that I have learned of Nancy in these interviews, is that she is someone who sincerely dedicates her life to enable others do more and better of whatever they want to do.

Wednesday, January 11, 2006Video link
If you are into online education you probably know that e-learning and Jay Cross are two words that go tightly together. So much so, that many have attributed to Jay, who is also an active and highly resourceful blogger, the paternity of having coined the term e-learning.
Jay is also CEO of the Internet Time Group and the founder of the Workflow Institute. A true thought leader in learning and in the effective use of educational technologies, he has been actively involved in the fields of informal learning, performance improvement, and organizational culture.
I have had the pleasure to meet Jay Cross, last April, near his little nice home on the hills of Berkeley, and together we have spent a few hours talking about blogs, learning and the future in general.
As he says "I am trying to change the world by helping people learn. My calling is to spread the adoption of practical ideas through writing, speaking, teaching, and selling ideas."
What I did feel Jay wants to do is to ask more questions, invite minds to engage and explore new pathways, and disseminate new ideas that can help everyone improve her ability to learn. Being that learning is the likely highest purpose I believe we have in this journey called life, that's a pretty spiritual task, if you wish.
And here is what Jay he had to say in the first mini-clip dedicated to TheWeblogProject, "What is a blog?" question:

Tuesday, January 10, 2006Rinaldo Lampis, is an independent Italian blogger, covering news and issues related to health and to freedom of choice for consumers. He is part of my grassroots Communication Agents Initiative, in which individuals with a strong voice and an interest for covering news avoided by mainstream media get my full publishing support.

Thursday, January 5, 2006Loic Le Meur, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa for SixApart, the company behind one of the most popular professional blogging tools, Movable Type (the very system used to publish this site), is a popular and much followed blogger. Loic is also the organizer of Les Blogs an annual blog conference held in Paris.
I have had the opportunity to meet Loic during the Microsoft Search Champs 2 program, last April in Redmond. For the little I have had the time to exchange with him, I felt Loic to be a clever and very talented businessman, with great communication abilities. He is an ever smiling, outgoing and optimistic person capable of transmitting the blogging fever to anyone who happens to talk him into the topic.
In the coming weeks I will be publishing more clips from this bus-interview I had the opportunity to snatch from him while riding to the Microsoft campus. And if you can't make sense of Loic classy French accent here is a full transcript of what he said.
Allegro Bracciante
Wednesday, January 4, 2006This is one of the funniest video clips we have had until now. Unfortunately it is not for everyone as it is in Italian, but the essence of the fun is this: the clip was shot by my son Ludovico (10 at the time) during an outdoors spring party in a Roman farm we often visit. The interviewee presented himself as a "Allegro Bracciante", which would literaly mean "Happy Worker" but we never found out if that was his real name or not.
Allegro knows nothing of blogs and provides an answer that is true little comic gem for its spontaneous idiocy. For those interested a full transcript of what Allegro said, are as always, right here below.
This clip received enormous attention as soon as we uploaded it, without any promotion or accompanying post on Ourmedia.org, where it has been viewed over 1000 times.
