This is an interview I have recorded in Turin, last november, during the Top-IX-organized Web and Media conference. Eugenio La Teana is the director of Research and Development for RTL 102.5 one of the major and most followed Italian private radio stations.
Here below is the full text transcript translated in English.
"The blog is a sort of diary wherein, in our case the speakers, we can communicate and receive those that are deliberations about our job.It's a tool for communicating, it's a virtual "square of emotions". It is a set of informative and tecnological instruments that sometimes, it's easier to learn and use than to explain what a blog really is, 'cause at the moment in which a blog is used, it takes on different forms.
It's an instrument that changes while using it, for sure the essence of it is to be able to share what our emotions are which can be in text, video, audio or images.
But this way of sharing emotions can be described as "falls"; you don't have to stop to think but add the most of contents you can, waiting for comments, in order to create a virtual forum where it's more personal, thus creating a flowing debate.
I think they could become points of reference where you can find analysis for those things which are considered institutional.
But they can also be seen as something that was once classified as news can now be seen as a conversation.
The way one communicates on a blog is much less formal than the more traditional information you can find on the web.
