What is a blog? Howard Rheingold video clip
Friday, November 11, 2005Howard Rheingold is the author of Smart Mobs, a truly fascinating book about the transformations that our wired civilization interconnected via mobile devices is about to experience. Howard is a fascinating scholar of cooperation technologies and a infatiguable explorer of new and effective ways to make humans collaborate more effectively.
A cyberpioneer, Howard Rheingold has published another great book on the topic of virtual communities, as well as one on Tools for Thought.
I have had the opportunity to interview Howard for TheWeblogProject in his zen-like backyard in Mill Valley, California, just north of San Francisco.
Howard is a very clear and articulate speaker and I think that his long refined ability to synthesize and summarize while using a plain and simple language gives him the ability of providing a short but extremely effective description of what blogs really are.
This is the first one of three excellent clips we shot together that day.
Check out his newsblog at www.smartmobs.com.
"Blogs are web pages that ordinary people can use to express themselves regularly and gain an audience who they can have conversations with through their page."
